[Tutorial] Free Xfinity Wifi

With this method you can have your entire home/office/whatever connected to the interwebz free of charge.

REQUIREMENTS ~

An Xfinity Wifi signal within range
Something to connect to the internet to download software (pc/phone/tablet) (pc without internet access can be used once to download software)
PC with ability to connect via wirelessly

PROS ~

Free internet!

CONS ~

Have to restart internet once per hour (can take 2-5 mins; when you have process down you can get back online within 30 secs)
VPNs dont seem to work

In order to get started you will need to download some software ~

Virtual Router (http://www.theprofetionel.com/du) ( Optional ~ get this if you want to use connection on multiple devices ie xbox/phone/tablet/idk) SEE STEP 6
Technitium MAC Address Changer (http://www.theprofetionel.com/eE)

Steps ~

1. Download MAC Address Changer from link above. If you don't have pc internet access when performing this method then either download software onto phone and transfer to pc (software is light) or perform Step 3-4 without MAC Changer software (ok to do once).

2. Run MAC Address Changer in Admin Settings. Under Network Connections click on the connection that reads "Up, Operational" under Link Status. Should be something like "Wireless Network Connection" or "Local Area Connection". With proper connection highlighted now check first two boxes and then click Random MAC Address. Next click Change Now. Your MAC Address on your computer has been temporarily changed. Congrats.

3. Open available wireless connections at bottom right corner of screen. Find "xfinitywifi" and click connect. Now depending on your set up it a browser window may automatically pop up. If this happens great, go to next step. Another option is the connection may ask for a username/pass or give option to connect as a guest. Select guest option.

4. You should be looking at a Xfinity Wifi window with a box saying Get Started Here. Click the box below "Not An Xfinity Internet Customer?". It will bring you to another page titled Get Access Now with a drop down box looking to charge you $2.95 per hour session (yeah right). Click the drop down box and scroll up to $0.00 complimentary hour session. It will then ask you to fill in your zip code and email address (please note there is no security in these fields at all for example you can put zip: 12345 and email: asdf1@butt.org and it will go through.) Click ToS box and "Start Session". You have free internetz!

5. After your hour is up you will lose your internetz. To get internetz back you will need to disconnect from wireless connection and then repeat Step 2-5. What this essentially does is spoof your MAC Address on your pc so Comcast thinks its a new device connecting to use a complimentary session since you can normally only use one session per 24 hours twice a month.

6. (OPTIONAL) If you want to connect to multiple devices with this connection follow this step. Open Virtual Router from link above. In Network Name box type whatever you want the connection to be called. Password box again whatever you want and will remember. In Shared Connection box select Wifi. This wireless connection will now work for other devices as long as xfinitywifi is currently active. So if you wish to use this please keep in mind everytime after you perform Step 2-4, you need to wait for connection to establish then click the refresh button by Shared Connection. This should then refresh the wireless signal to your other devices as well.
